What VeeRent stores in your browser, why, and what needs your permission. Last updated 11 October 2026.
01
VeeRent currently sets no cookies at all. What we do use is a small amount of your browser’s own storage, to keep you signed in and to remember a couple of your choices. All of it stays on your device.
We run no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker today. We do not follow you across other websites, build a profile of your interests, or sell browsing data.
We do expect to add analytics later, to see which pages people struggle with. When we do, we will ask your permission before anything is set, it will be switched off until you agree, and saying no will not stop you using VeeRent. That is why this page lists categories that are empty for now - so you can see what would go where.
UK rules on storing things on your device apply to cookies and to browser storage alike. We cover both here.
02
Strictly necessary
Active · Consent not required
Without these the site cannot do what you asked it to do. You cannot turn them off, and we do not need your permission for them.
Sign-in token
Firebase Authentication
Keeps you signed in so you are not asked for your password on every page.
Kept: Until you sign out
Account cache
veerent:auth-uid, veerent:profile
Holds your account ID and profile for the current tab, so pages do not reload your details on every click.
Kept: When you close the tab
03
Functional
Active · Consent not required
These remember a choice you made so the site behaves the way you left it. They change how VeeRent looks and works for you, nothing more. You can clear them at any time.
Section preference
veerent_active_gender
Remembers which section you last browsed so the menu opens there.
Kept: Until you clear site data
Opening animation
veerent_splash_shown
Records that you have seen the intro, so you are not shown it twice.
Kept: When you close the tab
Draft listing location
selectedLocation
Keeps the pin you drop on the map while creating a listing, so it survives moving between steps.
Kept: Until you clear site data
04
Analytics
Not in use · Consent required
These would tell us which pages people use and where they get stuck, so we can fix the awkward parts. Nothing in this category is running on VeeRent today. When we add it we will ask you first, it will be off until you agree, and you can say no and carry on using the site normally.
05
Advertising
Not in use · Consent required
Trackers that follow you across other websites to target adverts. We do not use any, and we have no plans to. If that ever changes we will ask you first, and it would be off until you agreed.
06
The rules have a short list of exceptions where permission is not needed. Two of them cover everything we currently store.
Strictly necessary. Keeping you signed in is the thing you asked for by signing in. Without it you would be logged out on every page.
Appearance and function. Remembering the section you browsed, the animation you have seen and the pin you dropped only changes how the site behaves for you. None of it guesses your interests, and none of it is used for advertising.
Nothing in the analytics or advertising categories is running, so there is nothing to ask you about. The day that changes, a consent request appears before anything is set.
07
Clear site data for veerent.com in your browser and everything listed above goes. In Chrome and Edge it is Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies, See all site data. In Safari it is Settings, Privacy, Manage website data. In Firefox it is Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data.
Clearing it signs you out and resets those preferences. Nothing about your account or your rentals is lost - that lives on our servers, not in your browser.
A private or incognito window discards all of it when you close it. Most browsers also offer a “block all cookies” setting, though it will stop you staying signed in.
08
For everything else about your data - what we hold, who receives it, how long we keep it and your rights - see our Privacy policy. For anything on this page, write to support@veerent.com.
