Rent

How to rent.

Six steps from finding a piece to sending it back. No subscription, no membership fee, and your deposit comes back.

01

01 Find a piece

Browse the wardrobe or search by item, style or occasion. You can narrow by section, category, brand and occasion.

Every listing is a real piece from another member’s own wardrobe, with their own photos. The listing shows the brand, size, fit and condition, the daily rate, and the cleaning charge the lender has set.

You do not need an account to look. You need one to book.

02

02 Pick your dates

The calendar on each listing greys out days the piece is already booked or the lender has blocked. You can only choose from what is left.

The shortest rental is 3 days. Choose fewer and you are still charged for 3. Pick dates with a day either side of your event if you can, so a slow courier is not a problem.

Booking is instant. There is no waiting for the lender to accept, and nobody else can take your dates once you have paid.

03

03 Check out

Your total is made of three things, all shown before you pay:

  • the daily rate multiplied by your number of days
  • the cleaning charge set by the lender
  • the delivery charge for the option you pick

Any VeeRent credit on your account comes off automatically. The figure shown as Total is the whole amount, taken once.

A refundable deposit is added on top. The lender sets it at 25% of what the piece cost new, and it is its own line before you pay. It comes back to your card once the piece is home and checked - less any days you kept it past your end date, and less an approved damage claim.

Your card is saved so we can charge anything owed above the deposit. We tell you the amount and why first. Payment is handled by Stripe, and your card details never reach a VeeRent server.

04

04 It comes to you

We book the courier 2 hours after your order, which is also your window to cancel for free.

By post. We buy a tracked label and the lender drops the parcel off. Which carriers appear depends on what the lender is willing to walk to, so the options differ between listings.

By same-day courier. Where it is offered, a courier collects from the lender and brings it to you, with a live map.

You can follow either from your order page. Keep the packaging - you need it to send the piece back.

05

05 Wear it

It is yours for the dates you booked. Ordinary wear is expected and is not charged for: creases, light marks, a loose thread.

Do not clean it yourself. No washing, dry cleaning, ironing, altering or dyeing. Home cleaning is how most damage happens, and the cleaning is already paid for and arranged.

If something goes wrong, message the lender through VeeRent straight away. Saying so early always goes better than hoping nobody notices.

06

06 Send it back

On your last rental day the return appears on your order. If it came by post, we buy the return label for you and you drop the parcel at the carrier shown on it. If it came by courier, a pickup is booked from 10am.

You do not pay again to return a piece. The delivery charge from checkout covers both journeys.

Need longer? Message the lender before your rental ends. Most are happy to extend if the piece is not booked after you. Full detail is in the Returns policy.

07

Changed your mind?

Within 2 hours of ordering - cancel and the whole amount goes back to your card, because the courier has not been booked yet.

After that - no cash refund, but half of what you paid becomes VeeRent credit and comes off your next rental automatically. The rest has already gone to the courier and the lender, who has held the dates for you.

If the lender cancels on you- you get the whole amount back, plus one day’s rental as credit for the trouble. Lenders can cancel, but it costs them a penalty, so it is rare.

08

A few things worth knowing

  • You must be 18 or over and live in the UK
  • Messages between members are screened, so contact details and off-platform payment offers are blocked
  • The piece belongs to the lender throughout - you cannot lend it on or let someone else wear it without taking responsibility for them
  • If a piece is badly damaged or not returned, we contact you, explain the charge and ask you to pay it. We never charge you without telling you first
  • Account credit never expires while your account is open
