Terms & conditions.

The agreement between you and VEERENT LTD when you rent or lend on VeeRent. Last updated 11 October 2026.

01

These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and VEERENT LTD (“VeeRent”, “we”, “us”), company number 15805057, registered in England & Wales. By creating an account, browsing, renting or lending, you accept them.

They apply alongside our Privacy policy and Returns policy.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

02

Your account

You must be 18 or over to hold an account, and you must live in the United Kingdom. The information you give us must be true, and you must keep it up to date - we use your address to collect and deliver pieces, so a wrong address means a failed rental.

You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.

One account per person. If we find you are under 18, or that you have given us false details, we may close the account.

03

What VeeRent is

VeeRent is a marketplace. Members list pieces from their own wardrobes and other members rent them.

When you rent, the hire agreement is between you and the lender. We are not the lender and we do not own the pieces, and we are not a party to that agreement.

What we supply is the platform service: listing the piece, matching you with the lender, taking the payment and booking the courier. We are not acting as anyone’s agent, except that we act as a limited payment collection agent for the lender, for the sole purpose of collecting what you pay and passing on their share. Our receiving your money settles what you owe the lender, but it does not mean we pay them straight away - we hold their share until the rental completes.

The piece stays the property of the lender throughout. Renting gives you the use of it for the dates you booked and nothing more. You may not sell it, pawn it, sub-let it or lend it on.

Because we are not the lender, a promotion we run is funded by the lender and not by us. Where a renter uses a promo code, the discount is taken off that lender’s payout. We set this out again under “Lending a piece”.

04

Renting a piece

The shortest rental is three days. If you choose fewer, you are charged for three.

Those three days are days you have the piece. Delivery time is not part of them and you are not charged for it. A tracked parcel takes up to 48 hours each way, so a three-day rental keeps the piece out of the lender’s wardrobe for about a week. That is why the calendar may show days either side of your rental as unavailable.

You cannot book a start date sooner than the lender can get the piece posted. The calendar will not offer those dates.

At checkout you pay:

  • the daily rate multiplied by the number of rental days
  • the cleaning charge set by the lender
  • the delivery charge for the option you pick

Any account credit you hold is taken off the total automatically. The figure shown as “Total” before you confirm is the full amount we take, and we take it once.

A refundable deposit. On top of the amounts above we take a security deposit, set by the lender at 25% of what the piece cost new. It is shown as its own line at checkout. It is not a charge for the rental - it is returned to you once every piece is back with its lender and checked. If a piece comes back damaged or does not come back, the deposit is used first, as set out in “If a piece is damaged or not returned” below.

Promo codes. A promo code reduces the daily rental fee only. It does not reduce the cleaning charge, the delivery charge or the deposit - those are real costs owed to the lender and the carrier, and the deposit is money you get back.

Keeping a piece past your end date. You agree to have each piece posted back on or before the last day of your rental. For every day beyond that, you are charged the same daily rate you booked at, taken from your deposit and, if the deposit runs out, from your saved card. This is not a penalty - it is the rent for the days you kept it, and it is the money the lender loses while the piece is away.

Booking a piece reserves those dates. Nobody else can book the same piece for the same days.

05

Looking after a piece

Take reasonable care of the piece while you have it. Ordinary wear from wearing something is expected and is not charged for: creases, light marks and the odd loose thread.

Do not clean, alter, repair or dye the piece yourself. Cleaning is arranged by VeeRent and the lender after it comes back.

Send it back by the end of the last rental day, following the Returns policy. If you need longer, ask before the rental ends.

06

If a piece is damaged or not returned

We hold a security deposit for the rental, and you agree at checkout that we may keep your card on file. That lets us recover what you owe without having to chase you. If a piece comes back badly damaged, or does not come back, this is what happens:

  • We look at what the lender has reported and ask you for your side.
  • If a charge is fair, we tell you the amount and why before we take it. We never charge you without telling you first.
  • The deposit is used first. Anything above it is taken from your saved card.
  • If you do not pay an amount you have agreed, or that is clearly owed, we may suspend your account and may recover the debt.

Damage means tears, holes, burns, deep or permanent staining, missing parts, or anything that stops the piece being rented again. We absorb small repairs and standard cleaning.

The most you can be asked for is the cost of repairing the piece, or its value if it cannot be repaired or is lost.

07

Cancelling a rental

We book the courier two hours after you place the order. That moment is what the policy turns on.

Before the courier is booked. Cancel inside that two-hour window and you get the whole amount back in cash, to the card you paid with.

After the courier is booked. No cash refund. We give you 50% of what you paid as VeeRent credit, which comes off your next rental automatically. The rest covers the courier and the lender, who has already held the dates for you.

If the lender cancels on you.You get the whole amount back in cash, plus one day’s rental as credit for the inconvenience.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take five to ten working days to appear, depending on your bank. Credit never expires while your account is open and cannot be paid out as cash.

Our service fee, and the 14-day statutory right. When you submit a booking you expressly ask us to begin our service straight away, before the end of the 14-day cancellation period in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Our service is finding the piece, taking payment and booking the courier, and it is fully performed once your booking is placed. You acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel our service at that point. Our fee is charged to the lender and never to you, so nothing is deducted from you for it. What you get back if you cancel is set out in the policy above.

The rental itself. Your hire agreement is with the lender, who is a private individual and not a trader. Those Regulations apply to contracts with traders, so no statutory 14-day cancellation right arises on that agreement. Cancelling a rental is governed by the policy above. This does not apply where the lender is a Commercial Trader (see below), in which case your statutory rights against them stand.

08

Lending a piece

When you list a piece you confirm that:

  • you own it and have the right to lend it
  • it is described accurately, including brand, size and condition, and the photos are of the actual piece
  • it is clean, safe to wear and fit to be rented
  • it is genuine and not a counterfeit

Our fee is 12.5% of the rental total. On a rental where the daily rate times the days comes to £100, we keep £12.50. You receive the remaining £87.50 plus the full cleaning charge you set. Delivery charges go to the carrier, not to you.

What a booking takes off your calendar. A rental blocks more days than the renter pays for. We reserve time before it for you to get the piece posted, time after it for the renter to post it back, and then however many cleaning days you set on the listing. By tracked parcel that is two days at each end, because the carriers sell a 48-hour service. By same-day courier it is none.

So a three-day rental by post takes about seven days off your calendar before any cleaning time, and more with it. You are paid for the three rental days. Nobody is charged for the rest - it is delivery and care. The listing page shows you the figure for your own piece before you publish it. As we add faster delivery options, the reserved days shrink to match the service actually used.

Cleaning time is yours to set. We do not assume a number. Leave it empty and nothing is blocked after the piece is back.

Promotions come out of your payout. We run promo codes to bring renters to the site. We do not own the pieces and we are not the lender, so a discount is not ours to give away - it is yours. Where a renter books your piece with a code, the discount is deducted from your payout and shown as its own line, and it is worked out on the daily rental fee only. Your cleaning charge is paid in full.

Insuring your piece.Couriers include some free cover, and the amount is different for each one. It is often far lower than the piece is worth. When you list a piece you choose whether to insure it for its full value. If you do, the cost is taken from that rental’s payout and shown as its own line. If you do not, and a courier loses or damages it, you carry whatever the courier does not pay.

Where a piece is worth more than a courier covers and you have not insured it, we do not offer that courier for it.

Keep your availability dates current. If you accept a booking you must have the piece ready for collection. Cancelling on a renter costs us a refund and a goodwill credit, and repeated cancellations may end your ability to lend.

You can pause or delete a listing at any time. Bookings already taken still stand.

09

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go from your browser straight to Stripe and never reach a VeeRent server. We never see or store your card number.

Keeping your card on file. When you book, you agree to us saving your card so we can take any amount you owe after the rental - a repair, a piece that is not returned, or a late return. We tell you the amount and why before we take it. You can remove a saved card once you have no active rental.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling. What you see at checkout is everything you pay to rent the piece. Nothing further is added unless something goes wrong, and those charges are set out in “If a piece is damaged or not returned” above.

Lender payouts are made after the rental completes and the piece is back.

Payment processing fee. Handling a payment costs us money - taking it from the renter and passing it on to you. That cost is deducted from your payout and shown as its own line on your payout statement, so you can see the exact amount on every rental. It changes with the size of the order and with the card the renter used.

10

Messaging other members

Messages sent through VeeRent are checked by our software before they are delivered. Messages containing email addresses, phone numbers, links or offers to pay outside VeeRent are blocked, and you are told why.

This is not there to be awkward. A rental arranged off-platform has no payment protection, no delivery tracking and nobody to mediate if it goes wrong. Repeatedly trying to get around the filter may end your account.

Be civil. Harassment, abuse and discriminatory language are not allowed, and you can block any member.

11

Things you must not do

  • List counterfeit pieces, or pieces you do not own
  • Describe a piece inaccurately, or use photos that are not of it
  • Arrange payment or delivery outside VeeRent
  • Hold more than one account, or use someone else's
  • Scrape, copy or republish listings or member data
  • Interfere with the site, test its security without permission, or try to reach data that is not yours
  • Use VeeRent for anything unlawful

12

Suspending or closing accounts

You can close your account at any time. Rentals already booked still have to be seen through.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud, or that owes money for a damaged or unreturned piece. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond. For serious cases we act first.

13

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for running the platform with reasonable care and skill, taking payment correctly, and arranging the delivery you paid for.

We are not the lender. We do not inspect pieces before they are sent, and we do not guarantee that a listing is accurate or that a piece will fit or suit you. Disputes about a piece are between you and the lender, and we will help settle them.

We do not promise the site is always available. We may change or withdraw features.

If we fail to meet these terms we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, for loss of earnings or opportunity, or for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control.

We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Where our liability can be limited, it is capped at the amount you paid for the rental the claim relates to.

14

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights we will show a notice on the site before it takes effect. Carrying on using VeeRent after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, close your account.

15

Complaints and law

If something has gone wrong, write to support@veerent.com and tell us what happened. We will reply and try to put it right.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we can both bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, and if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring one in your own courts.
