How to send a piece back, what condition it should be in, and what happens if something goes wrong. Last updated 11 October 2026.
01
If it came by post. On the last day of your rental we buy the return label for you and it appears on your order, with a tracking link. Put the piece back in the packaging it arrived in and drop the parcel at the carrier shown on the label.
If it came by courier. We book a return pickup for the last day of your rental, from 10am. Have the piece packed and ready.
Keep the packaging. You need it to send the piece back, so do not throw it away when it arrives.
You do not pay again to return a piece. The delivery charge you paid at checkout covers the journey both ways.
02
Send the piece back in the same condition it reached you, allowing for having actually worn it. Creases, light marks and the odd loose thread are expected and are not charged for.
Do not clean it yourself. Do not wash, dry clean, iron, alter, repair or dye it. Home cleaning is how most damage happens, and the cleaning is already arranged.
03
You do, as part of your order. Each lender sets a cleaning charge for their piece, and it is listed separately in your total at checkout before you confirm. It then goes to the lender, who has the piece cleaned after it comes back.
There is nothing extra to pay for ordinary cleaning after a return.
04
Tell the lender through VeeRent messages before your rental ends. Most are happy to extend if the piece is not already booked for someone else.
If you keep a piece past your last day, you are charged the same daily rate you booked at for every extra day. It is not a penalty - it is the rent for the days you had it, and it is what the lender loses while the piece is away. It comes out of your deposit first.
The clock stops when the carrier takes the parcel, not when it arrives.Hand it over on your last day and you are on time, even though it lands with the lender two days later. You are not charged for the carrier’s transit time. Keep the drop-off receipt.
See the Terms & conditions for the full wording.
05
Tell us as soon as it happens, through VeeRent messages. Things go wrong at weddings. Saying so early always goes better than hoping nobody notices.
Small repairs and ordinary cleaning are absorbed between VeeRent and the lender. You are not penalised for normal use.
For real damage - tears, burns, deep or permanent staining, missing parts - we look at what the lender reports, ask you for your side, and tell you if a charge is fair and why. The most you can be asked for is the cost of repair, or the value of the piece if it cannot be repaired.
06
A refundable deposit is taken at checkout, set by the lender at 25% of what the piece cost new. It is shown as its own line before you pay. It is not a charge for the rental.
It goes back to your card once the piece is home with its lender and checked. Two things can come out of it first: days you kept the piece past your end date, and an approved damage claim. Anything left is returned.
If what is owed is more than the deposit, we contact you, explain it, and tell you the amount before we take anything from your saved card. We will not charge you without telling you first.
